About Us

Who we are, where we've been, and where we're going.

History

Pack Flight Services was founded in 2011 by Kyle Pack.  A Florida native, Kyle started flight training at age 13.  After earning his Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating in high school, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL.  During his attendance there, Kyle earned his Commercial Pilot Certificate in both Single Engine and Glider categories, along with his Flight Instructor Certificate in Single Engine, Glider, and Light Sport categories.

Graduating from Embry-Riddle in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics, Kyle began attending Stetson University in Deland in pursuit of a Master's Degree in Business Administration while working full time as a flight instructor.  During this time, he earned his Commercial Multi-Engine Certificate, along with Multi-Engine and Instrument Flight Instructor Certificates.

While working with several flight schools, the idea of Pack Flight Services was born.  Kyle began building a network of contacts with aircraft at a variety of airports in the Central Florida area in order to provide a flexible flight training service to customers throughout the area.  As opportunities presented themselves, greater services were added to the mix, including aircraft ferry and delivery services, tailwheel training, and aerial photography.

Upon completion of his Master's degree in 2014, Kyle began dedicating the full capabilities of his training and education to the development and expansion of Pack Flight Services.  In 2016, Kyle was selected as a Designated Pilot Examiner, and Pack Flight Services has continued to grow.

Current Activity

Today, Pack Flight Services primarily focuses on conducting practical tests in the Orlando Flight Standards District Office.  Tests are available in both single engine airplanes and gliders.

Kyle's recreational flying activities include cross countries in his RV6, and glider flying in a Schreder HP18.  The 2022 summer season should see Kyle returning to glider racing, especially in the GTA series.

Starting in 2022, we have started offering commercial flight instruction again.  Demand for this service has increased dramatically, so Pack Flight Services has re-entered the training market, focusing mainly on mutl engine training.  This training is targeted toward the owner-operator model, rather than the standard "airline track" that most flight schools offer.

Future opportunities are always of interest, so stay tuned for more updates.
